The Long Term Rx Program provides clients with on-going medication management. Finding a solution to purchasing medications or the co-payments for the medications reduces stress and anxiety. The program provides continuous access to medications which leads to improved health and the ability to fully participate in community through work, volunteering, and fulfilling family obligations.

Our rationale at Associated Charities is that should clients have access to medications to control a chronic condition, this decreases the time spent in the emergency room, not to mention the expense of an emergency room visit. Access to medications and continuous medication therapy also decreases the number of hospitalizations required to stabilize chronic illnesses such as diabetes or COPD. The choice between medications and a basic need is removed.
