What is the Short Prescription Program?
The Short Term Rx Program provides at least thirty days of life saving medication to those residents who cannot afford their medication that treat illnesses and manages chronic conditions due to financial constraints. The program pays for the medication in a timely fashion at no expense to the individual which offers the ability to improve the quality of life and regain health and wellness.

Our rationale at Associated Charities is that should clients have access to medications to control a chronic condition, this decreases the time spent in the emergency room, not to mention the expense of an emergency room visit. Access to medications and continuous medication therapy also decreases the number of hospitalizations required to stabilize chronic illnesses such as diabetes or COPD. The choice between medications and a basic need is removed.
